It is just barely above freezing this morning; the lawn is sparkling and encrusted with ice and the sun is shining making everything glisten. And that is a small miracle for January which is usually so dark and a bit gloomy. Yes, a little light definitely helps move things along in the right direction.
Turning now to warm thoughts, I was pouring over the Green Gate Summer 2012 collection last night. I love all the patterns and colors. Summer's not here yet, but we can dream a little can't we? In the meantime, there has been some knitting happening here. Grace made this awesome cap for her older brother. One of her first attempts at fair-isle knitting and I think she did an amazing job. The wool is a wonderful soft alpaca she purchased locally.

I've been busy reorganizing and cleaning up "PatternBee Headquarters" (that little room at the back of my house). Nothing really remarkable here, just thought I'd show you a little corner of my home, the corner where I sit and doodle at my art table.

Upstairs, Ginger has her own corner for doodling.

And corners for mushroom making! This is something we've been working on together for weeks and weeks now. In stages, with days of drying time in between, and a fair amount of trial and error. With no directions to follow, we just sort of made it up as we went along. Initially, it was a small papier-mache project that went mega. And turning out fantastic. Exactly what we hoped for. So it has been a good learning experience and a lesson on perseverance. (If at first you don't succeed . . .). I also have an art project that I've been working on for just about as long now, involving glue and paper of another sort. Will introduce all of it soon. I am pretty excited about it! That's it for now.
