While the weather is still sorting itself out, we are wasting no time here getting back to the garden, and what better way to kick off the season than with a trip to this wonderful nursery--tucked snugly amidst the tall pines in the Oregon coastal range. A beautiful thirty-minute car ride over hill and dale at any rate. This place is magical, with breath-taking views around every turn and in every nook and cranny. Awe inspiring and soul rejuvenating. It was Mother's Day weekend, and they had a little mini-festival with artisan's, musicians, food, and of course, all the organic herb and vegetable starts you could ever hope to find. Including an early-girl tomato plant that is guaranteed to produce "fruit" by July! (This I gotta see....so we brought one home and stuck it in the ground to test it out.) This claim is only for this year, so we shall see.
The main attraction is the herb beds.
They are already filling out by May. Many are perrenials and don't need much care.
If you want to go there, order seeds or just find out more information about it--here's the website link. (It looks even more amazing during the summer, captured here in a previous blog post.)
Enjoy your stroll!
The Thyme Garden is neat, isn't it? I go to that Mother's Day festival every year. You took some great photos! It's a very photogenic place. :)

What a beautiful place. I like your phrase "while the weather is sorting itself out." It's doing that around here, too.

I love a good nursery, the sights and smell....heavenly!
We plant Early Girls every year, they never disappoint, and the flavor is amazing.

Now I was just wondering where you'd gone off to...nice to find you in an herb garden. (It does look amazing in summer.)

What a nice looking nursery, too bad it's way farther of a jaunt for me here in the Columbia River Gorge! Thanks for sharing photos. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

The perspective is good from this angle, I feel like I am there and walking along the grassy path.

Sometimes we need a little nature to get ourselves grounded in this crazy world--and these types of places do that for me.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for those early girls--can almost taste them.

Yep, it is a bit of a jaunt from there, but the gorge has many natural treasures and garden spots of its own to explore. I love that area!

Well, thank you Velma. We are busy and on the move a lot these days. Spring is nearly over though, can you believe it?
