I think summer has finally arrived in the northwest. Weather-wise, that is. How utterly wonderful it is to dive into the pool and not turn into a mass of shivering, shaking ice-cubes--with teeth chattering and goosebumps the size of golf balls. I've had a house full of girls all summer, from ages 3 to 20, and it's been wild, but fun. We've been busy! And it's not over yet. So, time is of the essence here as I scramble to update my blog before they arrive this morning.
I thought some of you might like a peek at the progress that has been made on the flower quilt. I have this draped across my kitchen countertop at the moment---it's the perfect height for basting. And since I am in my kitchen (it seems) more than any other room in the house right now, I can pick up where I (frequently) leave off, without missing a beat. Gotta watch those little peanut butter and jammy hands though!
Loooooooooooove the photo of the kids in the pretty blue pool. We're heading to a Kahneeta soon for a swim holiday. Can't wait to see that quilt all done and ready to enjoy.. who's it for?
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

The quilt looks great, I am so excited about starting this, my background fabric is ordered and waiting for it to come. Thank you for generously giving us these wonderful blocks.

What a lovely, clean-looking quilt! Your embroidery is beautiful, as always!

I love the peek at your progress! I'm reduced to working on pillows...just two. Must figure out a new fabric to work on as, just as you suggested, the Irish linen has proved to be too limp and fragile. Muslin you think?

Kids look like they are having a blast. The embroidery looks gorgy on that quilttop. Bernie

Oh, sorry to hear about the Irish linen--I was afraid of that.
Bleached white muslin is ideal--wash it first though because it will shrink a bit; the tighter weave of cotton will yeild much better results.

Hi Teresa:: This is our neighborhood "swim club" pool--it was replastered and refilled before the season started this year and is quite sparkly blue again--and yes, the kids are having a blast! Kahneeta sounds like fun.
I hope to get my quilt finished soon, it's been such a lo-o-o-o-o-ong project; I will probably keep this one!
