Little by little, the days are growing cooler and the "frost is on the pumpkin" again. Time to gather up the remaining spoils from the garden.
Over the weekend, the girls and I had an assembly line going as we canned the last of the Roma's. The pantry shelves are really bulging now!
My kitchen windowsill is a busy place. A prime location for soaking up some sunshine.
There was a beautiful rainbow over this scene late in the day, but by the time I stopped gazing from the backdoor and went for my camera it had faded. This particular family of deer visit regularly and keep the dandelions (and other weeds) in check. They are getting their dark brown winter coats now, a sign that cold weather isn't far off . . .
An assembly line sounds like the best way and the most fun way of getting the job done. Your family is going to really appreciate the fresh taste of tomatoes later in the winter.
I never knew that deer got a much darker coat for winter. Guess that I don't see deer very often except for here in your blog or in a few others. They look right at home and so cozy in your yard.

Your garden bounty is lovely. It looks delicious. I can almost taste the fresh tomatoes.
I cannot envy your view only because you share it with your readers. You live in beautiful location populated with almost tame wildlife.
I had a mini view of beauty at my back door where a butterfly visited my lantana bush this morning. Your blog inspires me to find natural sweet moments at home. Your wonders of nature are large, mine small but both are good for the soul.

Lovely photos. Yes, the rainbows lately are spectacular. Saw a double one the other day, against almost black clouds, with trees in foreground touched by golden sun. Had the feel of a Maxfield Parrish painting.
Those 'maters are gonna be devine come February. Burst of summer.

I can't imagine anything lovelier than that last photograph, Vicki. Life is truly stunning at times, isn't it? You've a life that inspires, and I thank you most sincerely for the time that you take to share it. You truly brighten my days.

Wonderful post, I love seeing all that's going on in your neck of the woods and in your kitchen. I'm just about done with all my canning. It was a stellar year for peaches this time. Now to make some pies!
