So Long September, until we meet again. We’ll miss your golden morning wake-up calls, your warm burnished afternoons, your peaceful quiet under a shallow lingering sun at the end of the day. I wish you could’ve stayed a little longer; your visit went by too fast. It does seem the days here are flying by much too quickly and October has arrived with a storm at its heels. Time to batten down the hatches and hang on, it’s likely to be a bumpy ride.
Adoring your fun stitching, and feeling the thrill of a new month... I love that you are sharing your thoughts and activities. This bumpy ride will be easier to manage with friends.

I love your tribute to September. I miss the north, where there is a definate change with each season. I even miss the snow some times. I am so looking forward to your book! Congratulations! I can't wait until the end of this month to see it. I'm glad your new sink & fixtures look good, and you will enjoy your bathromm when it is finished. There is nothing like the feeling of getting another job completed. Keep up the good work. You have friends out here supporting you!

Love the stitching that your doing. I'm also looking forward to your book. Your Chinese Lantern plant looks much better than mine. I thought mine were long gone until I spied one bloom this fall.

I've had some amazing coincidences from craigslist too. Good luck on the bathroom re-do. It's nice to get things like this done before the end of the year festivities hit.

I love the stitching too, but be careful not to overdo, Vicki.
September did indeed go by very quickly, and as much as I love October, I don't quite feel ready for it yet, as I'm immersed in home projects too. Nothing quite so ambitious as yours though. There's just something about this time of year, that makes one feel like nesting though.
It's dark and looks ready to storm here this morning. It sounds as if the weekend will be a gusty one!
I love Chinese Lanterns. Seeing yours has reminded me that I need to go out and see if mine have turned orange yet!
Hope your day is a good one!

Love this post..."batten down the hatches!"
When I lived in a different town, I was right across the street from a grocery store. Nonetheless, I would talk about "laying in the larder for the winter" and my girlfriend thought it was hilarious- so for Christmas, she gave me some soup mix that said "for Cheryl's larder!"
She said I acted like I lived in a little house on the prairie.
I can pretentd, can't I?
Now I live in a different town w/a fireplace & it is So fun when the electricity goes out & we can light a fire! Welcome Fall!

I'm kind of glad that September went fast. I love the Fall weather but it doesn't really start to cool down here in So Cal until October. We are expecting rain tomorrow and right now it's in the mid 70's. Nice.
Love your pumpkin embroidery. Do you have any suggestions on beginning embroidery?

Thank you for sharing so many wonderful and inspiring photos and pattern ideas...love your pattern shop.
Now, I have a request...would you please show the back of some of your work? The back of my work is always far from neat...how do you finish things off nicely?
