Moving right along, we have ACORN cookies! These are too cute and dangerously good. Here's the recipe:
Acorn Cookies
Cream together 2/3 cup butter, 6 T. powdered sugar, 1 teas. vanilla extract, 1/2 teas. almond extract, and add 2 cups sifted flour and 1/4 teas. salt. Save time by throwing it all in the food processor and pulse until dough forms. Take a spoonful of dough at a time and shape it to resemble an acorn (oblong with a pointed end). Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees F for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown. When cookies have cooled, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips + 1 T. vegan shortening. Dip one end of cookie in chocolate and again in finely chopped almonds. Place back on the cookie sheet to set up. Makes about 2 dozen or so. Quite apropos for fall don't ya think?
Nicer still, with a cup of hot cocoa and fresh whipped cream.
Gotta run, but I'll be back on Friday with a little Halloween craft to share and a ghastly true-life tale to go with it.
Incidently, I just noticed this is my 500th post!
WOOT!
Acorn cookies how sweet. They look delicious.

I like the clean look of your blog ... great header too! It makes me think of all those posts about the special anti-deer spray. :-)
The pale blue font against the white in the sidebar items is just a wee hard to see. Can you make it a tiny bit darker to contrast more? Ditto for the pretty pale pink font sidebar item titles. Beautiful color for your background!!!
