I practically live in my gardening smocks during the summer. They are comfy and easy-care, but not always the most attractive. That's when embellishments like covered buttons come in handy. I like to trim the sleeves with fabric scraps too.
It's an easy way to get that handmade look.
Grace used the idea for a linen blouse she had.
I love how it turned out!
Love that button idea! And yes, it does look great with her skirt!

Love the little rose fabric on the edge of the sleeves. One of my very faves...
Sooo...did you make the smock, or purchase it readymade? I like the pattern of it. Looks comfy.
Grace's button alterations are sweet.

Customizing and modifying your gardening clothes is really a lovely thing to do. Grace's efforts are darling, too. It's amazing how doing something a little extra special can change the feel of an item--and I think it's interesting how it somehow adjusts your own attitude and outlook when you wear something which is unique just for you. Makes it special!

Love the look of your garden smock! Is it a pattern? Brand and number, please? Did you purchase it? Brand, please? And with the price of buttons these days, covered buttons are a great alternative. Thanks for the ideas!
