Grace got a new camera and passed the old one along to her younger sister, who was quite thrilled to receive it. She's been happily clicking away since. Turned quite the little shutter bug actually.
Since the camera was second-hand I wanted to make her a new camera bag. Something handy for riding bicycles and climbing trees with camera in tow.
But also because we all need some things we can call our own.
And of course, a pocket for passengers. Gotta have that.
Updated 2010: Directions for the Cute Little Camera Bag are in my book Embroidery Craft: Stitching Through the Seasons (page 80).
This is so very cute! Don't you just love it when you make them something and they love it too?

The bag is great--pretty, age-appropriate for your daughter, and very practical. I love the way you come up with these ideas and then implement them into wonderful creations that you share with us. Always so inspiring!

I am dating myself as a child of the 80's, but I was OVER THE MOON when my big brother got a new Casio keybaord and gave his old one to me. It was so special to have my own... Lovely post! And what a sweet Mom to notice how important this was to your youngest.

Wonderful camera bag! I've been planning to make one for myself, but wasn't sure what to use for the neck strap. Thanks! I plan to add a small inside pocket to hold a couple of extra memory cards.

I just adore your site. thank you for sharing all the lovelies with us. You are a peach. I have been looking for Dachsund patterns, lots of poodles and scotties but no love for the Doxie. If you could find the days of the week doxies doing chores..gosh I would just FLIP. Maybe pixies and shamrocks. Thank you again for all that you do, My mom and I are going to be in tea towel heaven
