Last week was busy and I never got around to sharing a few little things I managed to make or finish the week before. There was another drawstring bag with a mouse squeek inside, for a friend. Embroidery added to the linen smock, and sent off to surprise someone special over here. LK mentioned that she liked birds and butterflies so that made it easy to decide what kind of embroidery to do on it. The butterfly is at the bottom near the hem. I'm just so tickled she liked it. And finally a note to say, thank you again to all who purchased mini treats from Grace's Etsy shop. She is amazed and humbled and wanted me to convey her heartfelt gratitude for all the nice comments and notes that came in for her.
We finally got the nice boxes and packaging we ordered and will have everything on its way soon. Here's a sneak peek. Grace added a little note to each one. So cute!
Amen, sister!
The past couple days we've had strong breezes up here in Vancouver, but on Friday it was 100 degrees on our back porch!
It feels so good to have a good laugh, doesn't it. You don't realize what you're missing until it happens again, like with an old friend.
I'm trying to think who I laugh the most with. My mom and I always used to laugh a lot together. One of us would just look at the other and we'd burst out laughing. She's been gone 15 yrs and I really haven't had that same giggly-psychic shared sense of humour with anyone since.
I've noticed that in the past year I've been laughing more easily and deeply, and I don't know what to attribute it to. It's usually my husband that makes me laugh and he always has done so, but these past few months I've had some great big whole-body laughs. It's a good thing

We had a nice cool (well, relatively) weekend after having the 109 stuff earlier in the week. I somewhat regret not having acquired some nice salmon to put in the smoker, though I suppose the convenience of not needing to put any wood in it would have been offset by the lack of smoke flavoring. Then again, I think if I *had* put wood in it would have gone ahead and smoldered. We'll never know.
At least, I hope we won't.

I live in Tucson, AZ and totally understand about the heat. I'm having a horrid time this year with it because I'm also having my own little personal summers on top of the hot weather. Ah well!
All the things you've made are lovely and I enjoy so much seeing your projects.

Amazingly, in Kansas we always seem to have a week or two of above 100 degree weather, but I'm still not used to it, and the poor air conditioner was running constantly.
Are we related? Your family sounds like my husband's family, all talking up a storm and the men just as talkative as the women! Makes every holiday get-together very exciting!

Dear Vicki, we are dying too. Although we do not have it as bad as you. I am living infront of the fan. Ohh good can not wait for our sweet treat. Clarice

Everything is so lovely. The bag is darling, the quilt is beautiful. The embroidery you chose for the smock is perfect. You amaze me and all that you get done.

I forgot to tell you to tell Grace that I loved the packaging! It makes you feel like you're getting something really special. (Which you are.) And you can imagine that Scott isn't into dollhouse things much, but he was really impressed by the doughnuts. I am ashamed to say that I haven't shown them to Willow yet. I am conflicted because she is not very careful with things yet (though she means to be.) Maybe I'll just have to get a set for each of us so I won't be worrying about it.
