I'm on my second cup of tea and flipping through my idea scrapbooks. Valentine's Day is tomorrow. That sure snuck up fast didn't it? Some things to share for inspiration . . .
How I love this wire tabletop tree. It's from Country Home magazine 2004 (Jan-Feb issue).
Next picture. Love this: Toile glued to the top of a heart-shaped candy box. Takes it to another level. I wish someone would come out with a plain heart-shaped box we could decorate or decoupage and fill with cookies or candy. You know, like the brown craft hat-boxes and other things you can buy now. I can think of quite a few things I could do with them.
Lavender filled heart sachets are always fun to make and give. And the cake decorations! Just paper hearts on beaded wire. You must have to bend the ends up to hold the beads on, no directions but easy to figure out.
Wish I could find a vintage ruby-red cake stand like this one though.
And speaking of cake stands...I'm still pining away for this one.
All from Martha By Mail. Yes, I do confess to saving just a "few" of those amazing catalogs.
This one, from 2000; is STILL a source of inspiration and painful longing.
Enjoy the eye candy.
What? Snow?!? I had to check to make sure I was on the blog I thought I was on. Wouldn't that be something! The kids would be so happy. *I* would be deliriously happy. A fine mist falling right now... almost snow-like... oh, I hope, I hope, I hope...
Pink was my first favorite color when I was a little girl, not pastel and not hot, but just a very saturated clear pink. But then, when I got over my infatuation, it was red. Now I love the combination.
I can hardly believe it is Valentine's Day already. Maybe we will go into town to get supplies to make valentines, although really I think I would be just as happy to sit here perusing craft blogs for valentine eye candy like you've so kindly provided here. Off to look for more valentine inspiration!
LINDA: Yes, it's true. Heard it on the radio this very morning and was giddy with excitement. A little now and then is fun!

What lovely pictures you have on your blog. I am soo jealous of all this snow you are having over in the USA. I'm desperate for snow but we get absolutely none :( To be snowed in is one of my life ambitions! Sheer bliss - that's if we had food, wood etc of course!

Hi Viki, I have two of the wire trees. One like the pictured one and another slightly larger one. I found mine at a shop in a town nearby, but have also seen them on EBAY in the Christmas Collectibles section. I usually only look at the vintage section, so it must have been there.

I enjoy your blog so much! Always inspiring. I would love to have the Tiny Patchworks book you mentioned in the fabric teacup entry, but cannot find it anywhere. Any suggestions on where to find it? Thanks.

Yes...I love all the red and white. And I think that wire tree is so neat! It could really be used for lots of different occasions. Thanks for the little bit of inspiration this morning!
