L O S T & Found
So tonight we pick up the story threads of our ill-fated crash survivors and manically endure their miserable suffering, strange mind games, sordid pasts, and gross medical procedures (what IS the fascination with that anyway---ewwww!), all in the relative comfort of our living rooms, while anticipating answers to questions that only lead to more. Will we ever find out what's really going on? Is the Island monster a supernatural figment of Ben's imagination? Will Jack ever pull himself
together now that he's back in the "real" world? Or is he stuck in a parallel universe? Why does Kate have Claire's baby? And who's side is Sayed on anyway? My head is spinning. Oh, how we love a good yarn! Soap operas, certainly, have never been more dramatic and complex than L O S T. Though I can still remember rushing home from junior high every afternoon and switching on Dark Shadows, that creepy, campy saga with Barnabas Collins as its central figure who was secretly a vampire, with a shrink no less---that was endlessly wandering in search of lost love! As a young girl, the irony and satire never seemed to enter my
mind, however I was absolutely rivoted by the characters and their apparent daily peril. Some things never change I guess. Anyway, picking up another lost thread, (sorry for the bad pun) is this bag that I made last month and never got around to sharing here. Some of you might find it interesting because it's made from eight pre-cut charm squares. They've been sewn together 2 x 8 to form a rectangle, and fortified with iron-on woven interfacing on the back. Once you've made this foundation you can just fold it in half and sew up the sides. I added box corners and lining to mine, and a few embroidered and appliqued elements for fun. And fancy handles. Sometimes you need fancy handles. All in all, makes a nice little gifty-type bag, the finished size being about 7 x 7-inches. (In this case, it was filled with Easter candy for Ginger.) Full view here.

Such a sweet bag! And a good use of those charms!

I love that adorable bag! The embroidered patches add so much personality. Ha ha, Barnabas Collins, one of my young girl crushes. I have not thought about Dark Shadows in sooooo many years!
Thank you for dusting the cobwebs off of that memory.

Dark Shadows...wow I haven't thought about that show in so long...I wonder if netflix has that one...
I am a huge lost fan as well. Doesn't it always seem that for every questioned answered we only get three new ones in it's place?

I just love that bag! It's wonderful, and yes, sometimes fancy handles are required.
Never got into Lost, and now I fear I'm too far behind. Maybe if there's time over the summer we can start catching up. We did that with Heroes last summer. Enjoy your viewing, though!

I used to watch Dark Shadows when I was in elementary school - it was scary even 'tho it was on in the daytime...in fact, for our 4th grade Halloween party I dressed up as Victoria! Wore my brother's girlfriend's long red velvet pantsuit that looked like a dress on me & she did my hair up in some kinda like beehive type do. Now I gotta find the reruns somewhere - lol.
Cute little bag!

Dark Shadows--my mom and aunt used to put me, my sisters and my cousins down for a nap while they watched it. We used to not be able to sleep because we could hear it playing in the other room. I would scare us so much. I was such a scaredy cat. Thanks for the memories. Terry

We love LOST but have only watched the DVDs as the commercials spoil it for us. So... we are a season behind.
I love your little lilac bag. The embroidery just adds the perfect touch to the lilac.
