Rainbows
Apparently old man winter's not giving up without a fight. As a result, the weekend has been a crazy mix of wild weather so far. This morning we woke up to snow. Not earth shattering amounts, but uncommon for April.
Yesterday, we all went into town for lunch, and on the way back to the car we got caught in a hail storm the likes of which we'd never seen. Hence lots flailing of arms and high stepping as ice pellets the size of frozen peas shot down the backs of our shirts. The noise inside the car was unbelievable. Both from our giggly-wiggly screams and from the hail pummeling the roof. I squirmed around in the backseat with my eyes closed and somehow we managed to get back home without hitting a tree.
There has also been a little birthday celebrating going on for a certain, much adored Mister man around here. Some covert activities happening in the kitchen (resulting in a beautiful and delicious chocolate-chip cake courtesy of Grace). Complete with lovely (purchased) hand-dipped rainbow candles. There have been rainbows appearing between the April showers and storms here too. What a gift that is.
Speaking of gifts, there were a few, and here's another one. Miss Lily puddin' here. Who simply loves being in the middle of things. Especially if there's wrapping paper involved. She's going on eight, but her kitten-side comes out whenever there's a rustle of paper around. It makes her so happy! See that smile? And that makes me happy.

Thanks for sharing your lovely kitty, she is beautiful. She made me smile, as does all your beautiful work. I am inspired to get out the embroidery hoops and start sewing when I read your posts. Thanks!

I am in love with your beautiful kitty! Those eyes - that nose!

The weather ! Very peculiar, but perfect for getting some final crafting done...don't you agree? Now if you could send one of the girls over to watch my adventurous duo that would free up some more of my time.!

We have a kitty that loves paper also, she is a lot of fun when trying to wrap gifts.
We also had the very strange weather up here in Washington State, I hope that will be the last of it.
The cake looks deilcious.

Oh gosh. I love miss kitty's smile AND the three dots on her nose. We saw Horton Hears a Who yesterday and your post reminded me of my favorite line: "In MY world everyone is a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies!"
LOL!

A lot of adventures.
Here we too, had quite a lot. The weather is rainy, some hours, some others is sunny; sometimes looks like all the water in the world is pouring down, sometimes is hail - never snow - and in the next moment is sunny again.
About birthdays and the like we too have a birthday today - my big girl is now 17 ! - and yesterday my 8 year old one had her First Communion, after she had her first Confession saturday. So, events after events.
Happy Birthday to the Mister.
The cake looks so yammy and the cat reminds me one I had when I was a little girl called Joaninha (translation:Little Ladybird or Little Joana).

This crazy weather is really getting old though! We have near 80 temps today and will be down to 40 tomorrow - sigh -
Love your sweet kitty. My cat too LOVES paper. It is her very favorite thing. Of course it makes reading a little difficult :-)

Lily-puddin' darling... she looks so lovely and ethereal. Such colors and delicacy. The weather stories I hear! Strange, strange business. If it weren't for chocolate chip cake, one might question the sense of things ;-)

Your photos are always so beautiful! I love Ms. Lily Puddin! When I was a child, we had an all white cat with one green eye and one blue eye... Spooky was her name. The best thing about that crazy April snow is that it doesn't last long. We get it here in New England from time to time, too, although this is pretty late in April for that kind of weather! P.S. GREAT job on the cake, Grace!... Donna

First off the cat is darling. And the cake looks delicious. And sadly winter has its strong hold on my area, too.

oh my - i hope the weather calms down for you soon!! Your kitty is absolutely adorable too - she seems to be so pleased with the paper and celebrations around her. How sweet!
Also just made a HUGE announcement on the blog of the "HOLY MOLY" sort, so if you have a moment, stop on by. :)

Kitties always like to help with projects. Especially if it involves a cardboard box, paper bag, a paper or blanket to hide under. Of course this kind of help isn't usually very helpful!

I love your blog header. I want to reach out and touch it as Spring is arriving so late in Wisconsin this year.
Your Miss Lily is the whitest cat I have ever seen. And soooo cute. The cake looks cute/good too!

I adore your first two pictures, especially the one with the little icicles. Yes, it has been a long winter. The sun was out today in Vancouver and I was actually in my deck chair!

The kitty's nose did it for me! It just suits you to have a kitty with a nose that looks appliqued! Just found your blog and I have been so inspired!
