Happy Chewing Gum
It's Valentine's Day and I've got some calorie-free sweetness to show you this time. Just a few little things to brighten your day the way you brighten mine when you stop by to say hello. I'm still making surprise visits to your blogs when time permits, and as always, am so inspired by all I see and read. I love this crafty community! You guys have the biggest hearts too. Speaking of hearts, if you're
my age you may remember having these kinds of Valentines when you were growing up in the fifties. These cute images are actually printed on fabric though. I couldn't resist them. Especially the colorful vintage flowers & polka dots prints. And of course, the charming, lost in translation messages! I don't have a clue what I'm going to do with this yet, except that it will definitely be something fun. I ordered it last year from ReproDepot. It's called, Doll Doll by Atsuko Matsuyama printed by YUWA. They carry a lot of
neat Japanese fabrics now, and they sell out fast. I looked for this and didn't see it available any more, unless I missed it, but no worries because there's always more cuteness up around the bend. More pix of this fabric here. Have a L-O-V-E-L-Y Day! xo

It's a beautiful day to celebrate love, isn't it? And those cards you shared are adorable. I wish a special Valentine's to everyone in the world, that we could all feel love for each other every day of the year.
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day and thank you for all the joy I get from your blog.

I have some of this fabric, too! I wish I could get more. I used it to enter a baby quilt contest at Fons and Porter. I didn't win but they kept my quilt "considering for a future feature". But I have since learned that it depends on availability of fabric. ha ha They might as well just send me my quilt back because they aren't going to find it. Its such darling fabric I wish I had yards of it. sigh

I love the fabric and remember those Valentines. I also remember decorating boxes or bags to collect Valentines at school...we would give to our whole class!

I was passing out valentines to friends with shoe boxes decorated with pink, red, and white hearts and doilies in the 50s. How exciting that was. Love your fabric!!

I love the vintage Valentine look - and just have to love those 'lost in translation' sentiments, lol. Happy Valentine's Day, Vicki - and happy Chewing Gum too! :-)

LOL on the happy chewing gum! These literal translations crack me up! I bought this same piece at Superbuzzy last year and sure wish I could find more! (but I'd STILL probably just hoard it instead of using it!)

Oh YUMMY! My daughters who are 11 and 8 just love all the 40s and 50 fabrics. They squealed with delight when I showed them these.

OK, (blushing from embarrassment), I'm going back to bed and getting up again and hopefully I will know what I'm talking about! The little duck icon is on my eBay group proile. My Dragonfly stitchery is on my blogger profile... good grief, lol!
