Bake at your own risk...

100_3413 I've been perusing a few blogs and relating to lazy food exploits.  Here's my latest one.  After dinner yesterday, I tossed random ingredients (whatever I found in the cupboard) haphazardly onto a baking sheet and 20 minutes later declared...dessert!  It wasn't half-bad either.  Here's the recipe: 1 package cinnamon graham crackers (8?) crushed fine in food processor with a hunk of butter (3T?) Pour out onto a small non-stick cookie sheet (13 x 9 x 1), spread evenly to cover the bottom of the pan.  Sprinkle over the top; 2 handfuls each of chocolate 100_3412 chips, sliced almonds, and rice krispies.  Pour a 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the whole thing, and bake 15 minutes at 350 until lightly browned.  Cut into bars.  Hint:  There's less guilt involved if everything is organic.

That looks and sounds really good!

My random cooking always ends up in the dog's bowl! These look very good!

That's just cruel! What am I supposed to do all night now? I have no sweetened condensed milk!

Looks like something my kids would love. Yum!

My mother used to make a version of this and we would get a slice in our school lunch boxes. You can't stop at one piece though. It's too good.

you are very naughty and now i can't stop thinking about it!!!

Such a good idea. Looks good.

That actually looks pretty good! I love to cook, but I also love recipes with minimal ingredients and work involved. Cooking from the cupboard is always fun--you never know what you'll get.

So many talents...sounds yummy.

I am never that brave with baking only cooking...sounds yummy!

Yum! I do that topping (chips, nuts and sweetened condensed milk) over brownies and it just makes them sinful! Hm, me thinks I should bake up a batch now... =)

Hi,

Just wanted to say these are yummy! I live in the UK and we don't have graham crackers - apparently the nearest thing to those are what we call "digestive biscuits" so I used those instead (and a "lite" version as well as a "lite" version of the condensed milk) and they lasted about 10 minutes (after cooling ...) so definitely a recipe for the future - many thanks for posting it!

I am going to try that recipe this afternoon, as I cannot stitch, I am waiting for the Pattern Bee order I ordered last week, and wouldn't you know it, the mail truck is stuck in front of the mailbox (ice/snow) and I cannot check my mail! I tried to help him, but couldn't. So why not bake?

Wow, I wish I could just toss things together like that and come up with something that sounds so delish! Thanks for sharing...I'm going to give it a try!

A-Z Quiche

  • new year's "brunch cups"
I'm attempting to make a quiche for each letter of the alphabet. Since I often get requests for recipes, I'll be compiling everything here for easy reference. This album will also serve to keep me on track. Feel free to try out the recipes and cook along with me! The idea for this was initially blogged here: http://turkeyfeathers.typepad.com/turkey_feathers/2006/10/quiche_love.html
