Merry Christmas Quiche

100_2117

The weekend sure went by in a blur, but the last of the shopping is done, most of the presents are wrapped and under the tree, others are packed up and on their way, holiday cards are in their envelopes and ready to mail, I've promised the girls we will start our Christmas baking today, (there was some wishful talk about making gingerbread houses but I'm pushing for fudge) AND..oh yeah, the carpet installer will be here bright and early Wednesday morning, so we need to clear out two bedrooms before he arrives.  No big deal right?  (What was I thinking?!)  So--- in the middle of all this, and probably because of it, the quiche I thought up for M became less extravagant, not more.   Turns out though, it's just perfect and an easy fix for Christmas morning.  In fact, goes perfectly with the apple turnovers and hot cocoa we usually have.  Maybe this will resonate with some of you too. (And yes, that IS a storebought crust. We do what we have to sometimes.) Recipe's in the sidebar under A-Z Quiche.  Enjoy!

Mmmmm it smells quiche-licious!

I'm almost ashamed to admit it but I have never made a Quiche and they look so easy and best thing is a whole meal in one pan!!! Plus all the Quiche ideas that you have shared.
You and your family have a wonderful holiday, Vicki.

Looks yummy!

Your quiche looks great!

This recipe sounds like one my guys would like, even though they say they don't like quiche. LOL! I love it, most any way that it's made, except with seafood. I've never liked that, with eggs.
Your addition of the rosemary and the tomatoes is a beautiful touch and it's photographed so prettily on that red and white gingham. It looks like Christmas to me!
Thank you for taking the time to share it all.
Best wishes!

Great recipe. Think I will give this a try this weekend!

It looks so nice.

A-Z QUICHE??!! Man. I'm gonna have to DOUBLE bookmark ya now! Thanks! (and hang in there)

I once worked at an expensive restaurant with a very lazy chef--all our pie crusts were frozen, but we thawed them enough to re-crimp the edges by hand.

I lost the gingerbread house debate at our house. (And I was up until 3 AM making cookies for teacher gifts----I wouldn't have to do that if I un-schooled, would I?) I have unadorned structures at the moment. Now I just have to find the get-up-and-go to make all that royal icing.

Best of luck with the upheaval caused by the carpet installation. Just think how nice the expanses of pristine wall-to-wall will be when they are done.

This looks delish. I was just perusing your quiche alphabet and getting very hungry in the process. This makes me want to blow my diet!!!

I love the little faux 'holly' garnish! So Christmas-y - and it sounds so delicious, too.

That is a great looking quiche--thanks for all the quiche inspiration! Happy Holidays to your & yours and many blessings in the New Year ((HUGS))

What a beautiful quiche!

Merry Christmas!

that looks so good. i amy have to make this! i am such a fan of quiche. i always buy the store bought crusts now. i just can't help it!

I don't know how I happened here but have spent the last week reading your blog. I'm inspired... you have a truly beautiful and wonderful work of art here. You've taught me a lot about my children (we're just starting our homeschool journey), sewing and keeping my home and feeding my family!! LOL! I look forward to reading some more.

The A to Z Quiche challenge looks fun and has inspired me to actually try it before turning up my nose or looking for the frozen kind... what me lazy?! Nah! LOL!

I look forward to more! :)

And thanks! :)

I'm attempting to make a quiche for each letter of the alphabet. Since I often get requests for recipes, I'll be compiling everything here for easy reference. This album will also serve to keep me on track. Feel free to try out the recipes and cook along with me! The idea for this was initially blogged here: http://turkeyfeathers.typepad.com/turkey_feathers/2006/10/quiche_love.html
