Last Hurrah of Summer

Let's see now.  What day is it?  Thursday...already?  I always seem to lose track of time whenever I leave home.

We've been over on the coast since Sunday, soaking up the last golden days of summer.

There was a mix of good weather.  Long walks on the beach.  Some stitching in the evenings.

Lovely people, and animal-watching from the deck.

A few surprises ::  like deer trotting around on the beach.

All of it, bittersweet.  The end of a season.  We've returned home sunkissed and completely ready to embrace fall now, though looking at these pictures again, it suddenly seems too quiet around here.  Missing the sound of the sea rushing in and out.

No hook-up or WiFi at the beach house,  so I'm just now getting back to answering many emails, returning phone calls, and printing up the PatternBee orders that were placed after Saturday.  These will be on their way very soon, pinky promise! *Thank You* stitching friends, I really appreciate your business and your patience.   And I really appreciate the renewed enthusiasm for Finish What You Have too, so let's go forward with it and see how much we can all get accomplished.

oh come on, you had your turn, I'm glad you said goodbye so gracefully, but I want that summer. I want it now! Send it on down, please!

Finish What You Have . . . have no idea why this is just so difficult. I have a pair of socks that have simply needed the toes grafted for almost a month, a month people.

what a lovely spot for little r&r. I smile eveery time I look at the deer "trotting around on the beach".

Oh, and that lamp in the first shot is awesome.

these images are beautiful...the light, the air, the sound of the sea, nothing like it! welcome back...xoC

So do you think deer just follow you everywhere?

Yes. Before I read the caption, I wondered if you took 'your' deer with you!

I'm looking forward to fall.

I'm so glad your trip was refreshing and gave you a sense of renewal and readiness for new experiencese. I adore the beach!

I love your photos, especially the one of the deer on the beach, and the one of the hat and your handwork. Nature always restore something inside of me that gets lost in the daily hustle and bustle sometimes. Visits to the beach and the mountains, both give it back to me. We're really fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

Your photos are lovely. They make me want to go to the beach right this very minute.

Thanks to your Finish What You Have challenge I finally got a few things done that have been hanging around for quite a while. Now to dig out more unfinished treasures!

So very peaceful and beautiful photos! Absolute serenity.

Been doing good so far Vicki, finished an embroidered coverlet for a doll cradle I had when I was little, and yesterday I finished an apron. Posted pictures of both. Now on I go to work on some more unfinished things.

OOHhh ! such nice beach pictures ! I love the beach AFTER the summer season is over -- and minus the crowds!

Also, thanks for the FWYH challenge -- boy! do I need a kick in the pants to "get er' done!!" --- I plan to join in the challenge TODAY !!! (how's that for determination?)HA !

Did those deer follow you from home?haha Great pictures and a nice getaway.

What a beautiful adventure.

I'm attempting to make a quiche for each letter of the alphabet. Since I often get requests for recipes, I'll be compiling everything here for easy reference. This album will also serve to keep me on track. Feel free to try out the recipes and cook along with me! The idea for this was initially blogged here: http://turkeyfeathers.typepad.com/turkey_feathers/2006/10/quiche_love.html
