Precious Gems
Well...that last batch of goodies from the doll house bakery is almost gone. Nary a crumb left on the floor, but our hearts are full. We just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who keeps coming back and to the new friends in blogland that have dropped by and found out they need a little more sweetness in their lives too. We are happily packing up the orders now and will get them out soon. That is, as soon as I can get the car out of the driveway. We're having a bit of ice and snow again today. It's really coming down at the moment and it's been much colder than we're used to. I don't think our furnace turned off once yesterday. Oh how I dread getting that bill. The last one was a doozie! What I could really use is a pair of wool booties like these. Not only are these babies CUTE but you wouldn't believe how soft they are either! They were created by one of my real-life friends, who figured out a unique way of making them. She starts with the wool fiber from her precious alpacas, dyes it, then wet-felts it into booties. Talk about starting from scratch people. And there are no seams at all. They just slip over the tootsies and conform to the feet. Baby feet, that is, these are tiny! It boggles my mind how she does this. Still. Even, after she explained it to me. Patiently. Several times. Missy was so nonchalant about it all too; and I'm like, "are you kidding me---these are AMAZING!" Recently, we sat around my kitchen table sewing and talking and I gave her a few embroidery pointers to embellish them just so. Love how they turned out!
My sweet friend here, has also been making and selling her exquisite soaps and natural beauty products for a number of years and has combined these skills with her love of fiber. Her felted soap bars are truly amazing. They ex-foliate as well as clean and the wool just shrinks with the bar. We've been using them and I can tell you they are simply wonderful. And I'm really excited to tell you that all these charming things, plus more, are now available in her new ETSY shop over here. So I hope you'll drop by and check it out and keep it in mind the next time you are looking for something special.

Adorable booties, they look so comfy! I'm into handmade soap too and I love the photo - wonderful textures and colors. I'd definitely scoop her soap up if I lived in the US!
