Counting Our Blessings

100_2821

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was a big lively family affair at the relative's house. With so many of us we rotate holiday dinners. We're on for Christmas this year and I'm excited about that, but with all the things that have been happening (almost non-stop around here) I have to confess; I'm not exactly on top of things. I just hope I can pull it off because at the moment I STILL need to put the Halloween decorations away.  It's slightly embaressing.  At least I have a good excuse though. Amber is here!  My oldest daughter who lives abroad; she dropped in for a surprise visit last week and we've had a lot of catching up to do. 100_2825_2

And just look what she brought back for me from her latest trip to Japan. I couldn't have been happier if she'd dropped a bag of gold coins in my lap. She says these craft mags sell for less than a couple of U.S. dollars over there and was shocked when I told her how much I've been paying for them here in the States.   The sweet, wool felted animals (above pic) are featured in this issue of Couturier ( ISBN4-89432-392-3).  Website here.  Amazing stuff!

Welcome home Amber. :o)

Enjoy your time with Amber and thanks for sharing those felted animals, they are adorable.

I have my tree up and decorated but there are still pumpkins laying around!! I am glad to know that I am in good company!

Enjoy your visit!

How wonderful that Amber is home, and she came bearing gifts, I'm sure that is icing on the cake.

Laughs! I JUST put away my halloween decorations yesterday...totally in the same boat!

....so glad your Amber was able to surprise you all...

Haha! Putting away the Halloween decorations and getting out the Christmas decorations happen simultaneously around here... ;o)

Lucky you, I've always wanted one of those magazines, never even seen one. Yay Amber! That little raccoon is so adorable.

It sounds like you had a most wonderful Thanksgiving and couldn't have had a better one. Glad to hear that you was able to spend it with your daughters. And the treats she brought back!!! If your able Please share more pictures.

How nice that she is visiting with you! :) I know you are enjoying that. I know you will pull it all together. I have no doubt. :))

Another exciting reason for visiting Japan. I can't wait to go there!

I just love Japanese craft books. I am in Japan and enjoy browsing their craft stores. You have a real treasure. You can visit me at http://900squarefeet.blogspot.com/

Oh gosh, I know how you feel! I've had lots of times when my Halloween stuff is still out about now. Especially during craft sale years.
I'm happy that you are enjoying such a nice visit with you daughter.

Hello from Japan! I am a Japanese who loves crafting and stitching! Those mags are my favorites too! Couturier is mail ordering magazine and we can have them every month. I would help you if you need help with Japanese words! Feel free to email me anytime!

Your site is so beautiful! My daughter and I are enjoying your site together and seeing all of your creativity is stirring creativity of our own!

My daughter said "I want to make a doll house like the one she made." She said she thinks all of your things are really pretty.

We are looking forward to coming back to your site and I have added you into my favorites and I guess my daughter has made your site her favorite as well.

Thanks!

The idea for this was initially blogged here: http://turkeyfeathers.typepad.com/turkey_feathers/2006/10/quiche_love.html
