I had to share this idea from a stitching friend in Pennsylvania, who sent me pictures of the burp cloths she made using prefolded cotton diapers. Nothing like turning an ordinary object into something lovely with a little stitchery! I think the crochet edging is sweet and finishes them off nicely. It's a great way to use small single designs.
The pattern is vintage McCall's #6942 (from 1963) . It's been reprinted as a new iron-on transfer and is available HERE. It's chock full of patterns for applique and plain embroidery for a variety of projects. There's also a washcloth bib and a child's pocket apron pattern that the motifs can be used on.
