Keeping with the tie one on theme this month for tea-towel aprons, I came up with this one for Miss Ginger who was due for a new apron, especially with *cookie baking season* right around the corner. This apron went together really quick because I'd already done the applique work on the towels last year. Had made two towels in fact, and was delighted to find them just sitting on the shelf in my cupboard when I went looking for ideas. I still can't get over
how much mileage you can get out of one towel. The neck-strap is cotton twill tape, doubled over and hand-stitched. It's fastened with a gingerbread man button, one that Ginger had been thoughtfully visiting in the button tin for some time, so it was the perfect opportunity to use it. And now it's her little treasure. The back ties are also twill tape that came on a giant roll from SEWTRUE a New York based company that I buy most my of notions, thread and other sewing supplies from. She's so happy with her new apron, and I think it turned out really adorable too.

Updated 2010 to add---Directions for making this apron are in my book: EMBROIDERY CRAFT:: Stitching Through the Seasons!
