Pom Pom Baby Slippers

Pompom3_1
Baby slippers I made from a pattern in this Japanese ZAKKA craft book.

Really fun to make, but time intensive. These took awhile with lots of tiny invisible stitches. Instead of straps I added pom-poms; just cut-off ball-fringe from a vintage chenille bedspread; soles are coarse-weave cloth, padded with fleece and lined with red-plaid flannel.

I think I'll enjoy them awhile here on my shelf.

that seals it. I am so buying this book. those are just too adorable. why is it that the smaller things are the more work they are? well, sometimes anyway!!

These are wonderful

CUTE! I just got a couple of baby zakka books, I'm anxious to make some booties!

Absolutely beautiful, little works of art.

I agree with you completely, I love the end result when making these shoes, but they are deceptively time consuming.
Worth it though- yours are gorgeous. I love your choice of fabrics and the pom-pom touch is brilliant

A-Z Quiche

  • new year's "brunch cups"
I'm attempting to make a quiche for each letter of the alphabet. Since I often get requests for recipes, I'll be compiling everything here for easy reference. This album will also serve to keep me on track. Feel free to try out the recipes and cook along with me! The idea for this was initially blogged here: http://turkeyfeathers.typepad.com/turkey_feathers/2006/10/quiche_love.html

Blanket Statement

  • Baby's Spring Slippers
a collection of things made from a vintage wool blanket found at a thrift shop. i'm challenging myself to come up with as many different ideas as I can think of. new items will be added randomly as they are created.
